The Master of Arts in Teaching Art Education at Tufts University prepares art teachers for careers in our global society. As a student in the program, you’ll take classes in education and art education, taught by faculty at Tufts, and in studio art by faculty at the School of the Museum of Fine Arts at Tufts. You’ll also have the unique opportunity to experience art education in both school and museum settings—student teaching in a Boston area preK-12 school and assisting in children’s art classes at the Museum of Fine Arts, Boston.

Finish in One Year

The M.A.T in Art Education is a 10-12 course program leading to endorsement for initial teacher license in Massachusetts. Students typically complete the program over an academic year and two 6-week summer sessions.

Job Placement

Gain Classroom Experience
